I have over ten thousand hours of face to face client therapy facilitation time during my career and additional time in other care provider capacities. During my time as an undergraduate I worked and volunteered as a case manager in support of homeless families at the Homeless Empowerment Relational Organization of Southeastern Michigan and as a childcare worker with SafeHouse, a Domestic Violence Shelter. I have also worked for many years as a support
worker (home visits) for families who have lost their primary breadwinner. During and after my graduate school experience, I worked as an outpatient therapist for adolescents, adults, couples and families at a private practice in a rural community in Michigan. I facilitated individual and group therapy for adolescents with substance use and mental health issues for three and half years at Catherine Freer Wilderness Therapy Program (CFWTP) in Albany, Oregon.
During my time at CFWTP I also facilitated daylong multi-family group therapy sessions and provided case management services connecting parents and aftercare providers. Until 5 years ago, in addition to my private practice, I worked part time for Providence St Vincent Hospital in Portland as a therapist in their chemical dependency and eating disorder day programs. My private practice began in 2006. I have been involved in Usui Reiki energy work as a student, practitioner, and Master for many years after receiving my level I attunement in 1996.
